This short course offers basic information for friends and family members of individuals who are dealing with addictions of all kinds. There are many people who need to learn to take care of themselves while having an addicted loved one in their lives.
It offers information for 1) taking care of yourself while dealing with an addicted individual, as well as 2) suggestions for dealing with your addicted loved one.
Anyone can take this course, as it delivers basic information on these topics. There are no prerequisites for taking this course and no study materials. Anyone who is a close friend or family member of an addicted person who does not yet understand what they are dealing with would benefit by taking this course.
In addition to delivering suggestions and information, there are three activities included. This is a self-paced course - you may go through this quickly or slowly. After taking this course, you will be more able to take care of yourself, deal with your addicted loved one in a way that is healthier for both you and your addicted loved one, and it will encourage you to seek out support.
This course is not designed to prepare you for a certification or exam. It is just for self knowledge and self enhancement. There are 16 slides included, with three activities. There are no videos. There are no online tests and there are three activities that you can choose to engage in ... or not, according to how in-depth you want to learn..
